Pear of the Williams variety. The oldest evidence of the Williams pear variety dates back to around 1770. The variety was named after its first propagator, the gardener Williams from London. The Williams Christ variety is used as dessert fruit, as preserves and for the production of fruit brandy and liqueur.
Birne der Sorte Wiliams Christ. Die ältesten Nachweise der Birnensorte Williams Christ gehen bis etwa 1770 zurück. Benannt wurde die Sorte nach ihrem ersten Verbreiter, dem Gärtner Williams aus London. Verwendet wird die Sorte Williams Christ als Tafelobst, als Konserve, sowie zur Herstellung von Obstbrand und Likör.
